Joseph A Maldonado-Passage who is also known as Joe Exotic or "Tiger King" released a message on his Facebook profile on Sunday begging Americans to keep asking "our dear President" Donald Trump for a presidential pardon.
The message reads:
To the World
I cannot thank everyone enough in America and around the world for your letters, pictures and support. I love you all. Please keep asking our dear President to not only put a smile on America but the entire world by granting me a Pardon and making this right. This would be a huge step in putting things back in a positive motion from this horrible virus pandemic, and not because I’m anyone special but because our system failed me, my husband, my parents and my animals.
And I’d also like to clear up some rumors. I was sent to the hospital twice. The first time with symptoms of the virus but tested negative. The second in an ambulance with a possible heart attack. Boy does Nitro give you a headache! It all turned out ok, just tons of stress, and because I was exposed to the outside I went back into quarantine.
When you send your letters, please write your return address in the body of the letter. The prison cuts off the addresses at the end of the letter when they xerox them.
President Donald Trump was asked by New York Post reporter Stephen Nelson if he would pardon "Tiger King" Joe Exotic during a press conference in April. Trump said he would "take a look" at pardoning Joe Exotic.
Joe Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in prison on two counts of murder-for-hire and 17 wildlife charges.
"I’ll take a look," Trump said.
“I know nothing about it…he has 22 for what?” Trump asked. “What did he do?”
“You think he didn’t do it? Are you on his side?” Trump asked. “Are you recommending a pardon?”
